What an amazing place, everything you could possibly need in a holiday cottage with the added bonus of the scenary. We had the most amazing week. Absolutely everything covered and Covid safe, hand sanitiser, cleaning sanitiser, everything, regular contact from owner and really good advice on the long journey up from our home during these strange times . Thank you for letting us stay in your property. We will be back!

We absolutely loved staying here, the cottage was just amazing, so sad to leave it.. I just think that they could provide a hair dryer, there may of been one there but couldn't find it. Also maybe have a few hooks to hang wet coats on. Yes I know there was a clothes horse but when you have drying clothes on it that doesn't help. We loved our stay & would certainly recommend others to stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Mill Cottage.. It had everything we required, bigger inside than initially looked, the location was perfect tucked away next to the stream. The owner Mrs McFarlane was really helpful during our weeks stay. We shall be returning to this lovely holiday rental in the future. Regards. Eleanor Laird.

The scenery on the Isle of Skye is stunning.. The cottage was great to return to for cosy evenings in front of the log burner. The view of snowy peaks beyond the fields behind the property was something to look forward to each morning. Kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the meals at the kitchen table.

This cottage has a wonderful view and is perfectly located if you plan to go hicking.. The small shop is not far and you can get there all you need. Yoz can see many birds next to the house, even a grey heron visited us once. And we had fun observing the cheeky sheeps outside ;-)

Skye is quite breathtaking in its beauty, especially as we were really lucky with the mild and calm weather, not normally associated with December.. The cottage, although situated high up in Skye, is very comfortable and well appointed. There are a few things to see, but as we were there from the Sat 22nd, most things were already closed for the holiday. Nothing much seems to be open on a Sunday anyway. Nothing at all was open in Staffin for our entire stay which meant a trip to the town of Portree (34 mile round trip) just for basic provisions. Portree is cute and worthy of a couple of hours. We visited the Talisker Distillery (one of the few places open on a Sunday) and had a nice Sunday roast in the Old Inn nearby. All told, it was ideal for a well earned period of enforced relaxation, with the fire on, watching a movie, reading or playing scrabble. Very, very nice!

The cottage was very clean (pet free was a definite bonus due to allergies).. Everything we could need was provided, and even more. It was situated in a great location for exploring the Isle of Skye, with a local shop and two restaurants being close by (one closed due to being out of season).

The cottage is situated next to a small stream on the edge of the village of Staffin. There is a private driveway to it with room for a few cars. The entrance area has a dirty boots tray - very useful, washing machine and the downstairs loo, The well equipped kitchen has everything you could possibly need - the original stone wall is a real feature. The lounge is comfortable with large sofa, armchair plus sky tv and the woodburner. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are of a similar size and both have ensuite small bathrooms - please be aware that the bedrooms and bathrooms have a sloping roof. The shower cubicles are large with ample hot water all day. The bedrooms have a fabulous view out over the fields to the mountains. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout and always warm. The outside area is accessed via a patio door and has a small bench and picnic table to enjoy al fresco living when the weather is kind. All in all a super place to stay after a long day out sightseeing. The only thing we missed was not having a radio in the kitchen - this was a personal thing though and not meant as a criticism.

Super cottage that exceeded our expectations.. Quiet, peaceful location but nice to be in a village surrounding. The owners have clearly put in a lot of effort to make the cottage a really comfortable home from home.

This was my second time staying at the Old Mill in Staffin and I would love to come back! The cottage ticked every box for me and I really enjoyed staying there. Upon arrival, the owners had baked some gorgeous biscuits which were very nice. Initially, the cottage had no working internet, therefore I informed the owner who went out of her way to rectify the problem in less than 24 hours by obtaining a new router. The cottage itself is spacious, modern, comfortable and warm. It has stunning views of a river and mountains, from the second that you wake up in your bedroom and look out of the window. The location of the cottage is perfect, the Isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited in the whole of Europe. The cottage has amazing views nearby of the sea and there are many fantastic places to visit on the Island. Overall this cottage is brilliant, the location brilliant, the owners are very helpful and respect and I can not wait to book to come back!

What can I say we stayed here in February 2017. The cottage is cosy modern and very comfy and clean. Fully equipped kitchen with the added bonus of a dishwasher if you don't want to bother washing up after your meal washing machine (we didn't use either) comfortable clean bedrooms both with en-suites also a downstairs loo log burner in lounge for those colder nights although the cenral heating was quite adequate. The river at the side was a bonus. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and if we are ever in the area again would definitely stay here again

We booked the Old Mill for a the Christmas week. It was all we hoped for. Warm cosy and beautifully appointed. Two en-suite bedrooms, a large well equipped kitchen diner and a cosy lounge with WiFi, Sky TV, DVD player and a selection of up to date films, games (no cards but we got some at the village shop) and a couple of jigsaws. The weather during our week was not too good and Skye and the NW of Scotland were lashed by Storm Barbara with high winds and heavy rain. It was so bad that sometimes the TV reception disappeared! The internet due to a lightning strike on the island was very patchy - not the fault of the owner! There is a very well stocked village shop with good fresh local bread as well as everything you would need. Be warned that on Skye in the winter months the majority of cafes and restaurants close so don't go expecting to eat out a lot. Our nearest restaurants were in Portree which meant a 30 mile round trip drive in bad weather. The owner Liz was charming and couldn't do enough for us - she even gave us the Christmas tree she had had in her classroom which really made the cottage seem very Christmassy. Skye is bigger than we realised but we found that the OLD MILL was well located for various attractions such as the Old Man of Storr, The Quirang and Mealt Falls. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough it was all and more than we had expected. Thank you Liz.

The Old Mill is a lovely cottage which although situated in the heart of Staffin, very near to a grocery shop and a restaurant is actually very private. It is in an ideal place for anyone who wants to explore the beautiful Isle of Skye. Everywhere on the Isle can be reached by road quite easily and many of Skye's premier attractions are very near to Staffin. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable and because of its location offers some spectacular views. The only problem you might have is not wanting to leave at the end of your holiday.

Stayed here for a week that had sunshine every day except one. The cottage is in the village of Staffin in the NE of the island. The views are amazing all around. It is very well presented & laid out. Everything we needed was here, unfortunately or should that be fortunately we did not get to use the woodburner as the weather was too hot. The downstairs is very well laid out & very nicely furnished. Upstairs 2 ensuite bedrooms both with excellent showers. There is sky tv & good broadband, DVD's, books & boardgames. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. It was also reasonably priced & we enjoyed our stay very much.

Had a perfect stay, it was a real home from home. There were the most magnificent views of the mountains from the windows. The owners were happy to help with lots of information regarding things to do on the island.

We loved our stay at the Old Mill... it was a beautiful home from home. The owners were lovely and left us some beautiful home baked shortbread and were very helpful, when after a huge storm, the Sky dish blew down. If we ever return to Skye we would definitely return to the Old Mill as it is perfectly placed for exploring the amazing island!

The cottage was a joy, home from home. Very comfortable and cosy. The cottage was in a lovely location - a short walk from the sea, next to a river and in a peaceful rural location with a view of the mountains behind.

The accommodation was of a very good standard. It was well located, just what we needed; a change of scenery and tranquillity with all the comfort inside the property. The WiFi connection in the property was very good - very important feature for teenagers. It was very pleasant to wake up to the sound of sheep, lambs and running water from the burn.

Nice cottage in a fantastic location for exploring the Trotternish peninsula. Good to be able to relax by the wood burner when the weather was not so good as well!
